Japan Oil, Gas and Metals National Corporation (JOGMEC)was founded on February 29, 2004. The JOGMEC Technology & Research Center successfully completed its projects for the fiscal year 2006 with the cooperation of the petroleum exploration industry, universities, the Japanese government and many other people who have offered us their valuable efforts. We are currently engaged in the research and training programs based on the Work Plan for the fiscal year 2007, which is the fourth year of our middle-term planning.
The oil and gas industries are currently facing a drastic transition due to the record-high oil price, the increase of energy consumption in the Asian region, the progress in natural gas exploration, etc. Under such circumstances, we believe that our Technology Center’s mission is to play a principal role in developing the petroleum exploration technology of our country and to meet the expectations of the petroleum exploration industry. With this mission in mind, we make a continuous effort to contribute to accumulating technology, providing prompt technological assistance, promoting joint research programs with the oil producing countries, assisting in creating new projects, executing quick assessments and dealing appropriately with the government’s demands.
